On April 25, 2019 Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative and Xylem Tree Experts celebrated the grand opening of Xylem’s Shenandoah District Office in Mount Jackson, VA. Xylem Tree Experts has been contracted to provide Line Clearance Tree Trimming and Vegetation Management for SVEC. The new facility establishes Xylem’s presence in the co-ops service territory.
“We’re grateful to have Xylem Tree Experts working with us and excited that they went the extra mile to establish this permanent facility in the valley,” said Scott Sorrels, SVEC’s vegetation management supervisor. “This location makes all of our jobs easier and will facilitate our continuing goal of providing safe, reliable, and affordable electricity.”
Xylem Tree Experts leased the old High’s Ice Cream building on Main Street at the beginning of 2019. After remodeling the building to suit their needs, the Mount Jackson office is now officially open.
“This new district office provides Xylem with a base of operations to recruit, hire, train, and manage its 85+ employees throughout the valley,” said Randolph Hoover, Xylem Tree Experts President and CEO.
“Ben Cash and Scott Sorrels’ leadership and vision for the future of SVEC’s Vegetation Management program has permeated throughout the entire Valley,” said Benjamin Hoover, Xylem Tree Experts COO. “I am very proud to participate in that vision with an amazing team of Xylem employees and SVEC vegetation management coordinators.”
Xylem is a Virginia corporation headquartered in Wakefield, VA with administrative offices in Norfolk, VA. Among its services, the company provides line clearance tree trimming to various investor owned utilities, electric cooperatives, and municipalities throughout the southeastern United States. SVEC maintains more than 8,100 Miles of Line.
